On March 20, 2010, Yemaya Salsa Dance Company will be hosting "Fania Night," a salsa concert/show celebrating the salsa hits of Fania Records and bringing to Sacramento, some of the hottest salsa entertainers in the world!

Fania Records was the leader of the salsa movement of the late 60s/early 70s, founded by Johnny Pacheco and Jerry Masucci. Artists such as Hector Lavoe, Celia Cruz, Ray Barretto, Joe Cuba, Ismael Rivera, Roberto Roena, Larry Harlow, Cheo Feliciano, Willie Colon, Bobby Valentin, Ruben Blades, etc., all recorded under Fania Records and were an essential part of the Fania family. Countless hits that were recorded under Fania during that era are still being listened to. They are the most favorite among seasoned dancers in salsa clubs today. We are honoring that era by hosting "Fania Night." This will be a theme salsa event. All guests are encouraged to dress in 70s attire.

- Afternoon workshops - $15/class (workshops start at 2:30 pm) Workshop tickets are available on the day of the event.
